คำอธิบาย Hydrological hazards are considered as major natural disaster which occurred most frequently, affected largest areas, and resulted in significant impacts around the world. The global climate change compounded by human activities is continuously exacerbating the impacts of the hazards, leading to even more risks regarding to the safety and water resource management of human society. The needs for mitigation and adaptation to reduce the impacts of hydrological hazards faced by both China and Thailand are particularly in urgency due to its significant implications to their sustainable development. The project aims to design an adaptive policy for hydrological hazards in the Chao Phraya River Basin (CPRB) of Thailand. It consists of a total of four main components compatible with four supporting specific objectives. The project covers multiple scales and dimensions in the river basin, with a focus on the key scientific issues of climate change adaptation through significantly enhanced understanding and improved capability by implementing an interdisciplinary approach involving natural, social, engineering and humanity sciences. The results of the project are of great significance to enable better decision-making by more scientific-evidence-based hydrological hazard risk management approaches and more integrated adaptive measures including policies and management for river basin.
